Location: Boston, MA Type: Perm (Contingency) Job #48095 Salary: $140,000 Job Overview - Controller (Retail & Ecommerce) Compensation: $140,000 - $170,000/year Location: Boston, MA Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid) Atlantic Group is hiring a Controller (Retail & Ecommerce) in Boston, MA for our client, leading accounting operations across revenue, inventory, and financial reporting within a high-growth retail and ecommerce environment. In this hybrid role, you will oversee month-end close, manage the accounting team, and drive process improvements while ensuring GAAP compliance and leveraging Workday Financials to support scalable operations. Responsibilities as the Controller (Retail & Ecommerce): Close & Financial Reporting: Lead month-end close activities, including journal entry review, accruals, and reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Balance Sheet & Accounting Oversight: Own balance sheet integrity across cash, deferred revenue, inventory, and accruals. Revenue & Inventory Accounting: Oversee revenue recognition, inventory, COGS, and operating expense accounting within a retail environment. Team Leadership: Manage and develop the accounting team, setting workflows, expectations, and performance standards. Process Improvement & Systems: Drive process enhancements, internal controls, and accounting system initiatives, including Workday Financials. Qualifications for the Controller (Retail & Ecommerce): Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Experience: 7-10 years of accounting experience within retail, ecommerce, or inventory-driven businesses, including 3+ years of team leadership experience. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, revenue recognition, inventory and cost accounting, multi-unit close processes, and payment reconciliations. Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency required, with experience using Workday Financials or a similar ERP system and Workday Accounting Center experience strongly preferred.
