About the Role: The Lead AI Strategist (LAS) is a recognized expert in AI, an experienced researcher or operator, and a versatile contributor who will investigate how data streaming can enhance business outcomes for AI-driven applications. The LAS will operate with high autonomy to craft strategies that demonstrate how Confluent's data streaming platform can empower customers in utilizing AI technologies effectively. In this pivotal role, you will: Conduct Research: Devote substantial time to impactful, long-term investigations into how data streaming integrates with current AI technologies. This research will drive improvements in both R&D and market strategies for Confluent. Engage with the Market: Represent Confluent to C-level executives, media, and analysts to showcase the importance of data streaming in supporting AI applications. Contribute to our Customer and Product Advisory Boards to ensure our products and marketing meet market needs effectively. Demonstrate Thought Leadership: Influence industry perspectives on Data Streaming applications in AI by developing technical content and showcasing industry use cases that highlight business value. Support AI practitioners in adopting Confluent products. Promote Data Streaming: Build credibility for Confluent's capabilities in AI applications by working closely with our solutions engineering team to create and circulate relevant technical patterns and reference architectures. Guide Product Direction: Recommend significant changes to technology direction to ensure integration with existing AI technologies. Prototype emerging ideas, explore practical implementation, and anticipate future capabilities beyond the current roadmap. Monitor Trends: Stay informed about AI technology trends that may impact Confluent's strategic direction, analyze competitive threats, and identify potential opportunities. What You Will Bring: Proven leadership experience in R&D or GTM within enterprise SaaS, with a strong background in commercializing AI technologies or significant research credentials, including a PhD in Computer Science or a related field. Ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear insights and summaries, knowing when to explore details deeply. Experience influencing high-level decisions and interactions with C-level customers effectively. Track record of generating engaging content that innovatively reshapes existing concepts. Exceptional writing skills accompanied by a knack for clarifying intricate concepts. Strong speaking skills, capable of addressing both technical audiences and non-technical stakeholders. Self-driven, consistently delivering high-quality work within deadlines and minimal oversight. Experience in software development or data science and a broad understanding of technology, distributed systems, and business. Familiarity with data streaming is a significant advantage.
