With the Olympic and Paralympic Games approaching in 2026 (Milan) and 2028 (Los Angeles), this is an exciting chance to join a dedicated team focused on supporting clean athletes and enhancing USADA's future endeavors. REPORTS TO: DC Ops Manager & Assistant Manager The Doping Control Officer (DCO) is responsible for conducting sample collections from athletes, both at events and in out-of-competition settings. As a representative of USADA, DCOs play a crucial role in ensuring fairness and compliance in athletics while engaging in local and national travel for assignments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct sample collection sessions for Olympic, Paralympic, and Client Services testing teams. Plan and manage assignments according to WADA International Standards and USADA guidelines. Oversee logistics for effective and efficient testing missions. Process samples in line with USADA's protocols and WADA Code/International Standards. Recruit and onboard independent contractors to assist in sample collections. Travel as necessary to carry out sample collections. Ensure thorough documentation throughout the doping control process. Ship and submit processed samples to accredited WADA laboratories. Assist with training new Doping Control Officers. Engage in DCO evaluation and ongoing education. Uphold confidentiality and integrity at all times. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats. Excellent organization skills and keen attention to detail. Technologically proficient, especially with tablets and various software tools. Ability to make informed decisions following USADA protocols. Capacity to handle multiple tasks and thrive under pressure. Professional demeanor when interacting with diverse stakeholders. Willingness to travel on short notice and work flexible hours. Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Valid Driver's License and compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR DCO II: Valid national phlebotomy certification from recognized accrediting agencies. Preferred minimum of 3 years of experience in phlebotomy. Compensation for out-of-competition tests ranges from $130 to $180 per test based on various parameters, while in-competition testing is compensated at a flat rate of $250 per day. Expect an initial onboarding commitment of 24-30 hours within the first 60 days, followed by 2-3 hours of quarterly training and updates, in addition to time dedicated to conducting test assignments.
