Our team works closely to deliver customized insurance solutions that protect and grow our commercial clients' businesses.Position OverviewThe Commercial Insurance Agent is responsible for developing new business and managing an existing book of commercial accounts. This role involves prospecting, risk evaluation, coverage recommendations, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will be a trusted advisor to business owners, helping them make informed decisions to safeguard their operations.Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing commercial lines clientsIdentify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and outbound sales effortsConduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate coverage solutionsPrepare quotes, proposals, and policy reviewsAdvocate for clients with carriers regarding coverage, underwriting, and claims situationsMaintain organized records and ensure compliance with agency and carrier requirementsStay informed on industry trends, coverage updates, and regulatory changesWork collaboratively with account managers, underwriters, and agency leadership to support client needs Required Skills & Qualifications Active Property & Casualty Insurance License5+ years of experience in commercial insurance sales or underwriting with an independent agency systemStrong understanding of commercial lines products (GL, Property, Auto, Workers' Comp, BOP, etc.)Proven sales, negotiation, and communication skillsCustomer-focused mindset with attention to detailSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamProficient in agency management systems and standard office softwareProficient in conflict resolution and problem solving Preferred Qualifications Existing commercial client relationshipsExperience working in an independent agency settingProfessional designations such as CIC, CISR, CLCS, or CPCU (or willingness to pursue) Physical Demands and Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
