We are currently seeking a motivated Hollow Metal Shop Specialist to contribute to our success in providing high-quality products and exceptional service to homeowners and contractors. Position Summary As a Shop Specialist, you will be instrumental in supporting our welding operations and ensuring efficient shipment processes. Your role will involve layout, fitting, and fabricating metal components, along with maintaining our warehouse and assisting with shipping. Bring your skills in welding, metallurgy, and craftsmanship, and help us deliver outstanding results! Duties Embrace and support the company’s mission, vision, and core values. Perform all safety procedures in accordance with company safety policies and all applicable laws. Assist with various welding tasks. Layout, position, and secure products according to specifications. Apply knowledge of metallurgy and welding techniques to determine appropriate methods and equipment. Heat, form, and dress metal parts using hand tools and welding equipment. Weld components in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead). Repair broken or cracked parts, and fill holes. Use grinders and hand tools to remove rough spots from work pieces. Assist in shipping by processing orders and determining items for shipment. Ensure safe packaging of products. Load installers’ vehicles with items for delivery. Operate forklifts and pallet jacks for transport of shipments. Provide assistance to customers and installers when needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse. Help with facilities maintenance duties as necessary (e.g., snow removal). Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results. Requirements Understanding of the construction industry and related products. Knowledge of welding techniques. Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications. Proficient with hand tools. Ability to improvise with tools and materials as necessary. Ability to operate a forklift. Strong analytical and mathematical skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Detail-oriented with strong listening skills. Ability to work independently under pressure. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with hollow metal doors and frames. Prior welding experience. Experience in warehouse and inventory management. Work Conditions Work in a non-climate-controlled environment and various weather conditions. Regularly required to stand, bend, and lift up to 100 lbs. Must be able to sit occasionally and climb stairs or ladders.
