Description AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating all AWS global infrastructure, effectively keeping the cloud operational. We support all AWS data centers along with servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment, ensuring our customers have uninterrupted access to the innovations they rely on. We tackle the most complex challenges, with numerous variables influencing the supply chain, and we're keen on adding exceptional talent to our team. As a part of our diverse team including software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers, you will collaborate with numerous stakeholders across AWS to maintain high safety and security standards while delivering extensive capacity at cost-effective rates. As a Data Center Project Manager, you will lead an inventive and diverse team committed to developing groundbreaking Amazon Data Centers. Our facilities are exemplars of energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Working closely with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning teams, you'll oversee the construction of data centers that meet our customers' needs. In this role, you'll be engaging daily on construction sites, serving as Amazon's representative, and driving efforts around cost management, scheduling, and quality assurance while overseeing construction contractors and vendors. At Amazon, we operate with a sense of ownership that extends from design reviews to construction execution and final hand-off, empowering our team of managers and engineers to develop innovative solutions for our data centers. Key Responsibilities Interface directly with construction general contractors during all phases including bidding, execution, and project closeout. Negotiate with general contractors and thoroughly evaluate bids and proposals. Develop construction project scopes and request proposals. Perform financial analyses related to construction projects. Manage initiatives designed to enhance the resilience of our data centers. Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers. Oversee all construction documentation including submittal reviews, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing. Ensure strict adherence to quality control throughout construction projects. Gather and report key construction metrics to team members and management. Lead troubleshooting and root cause analyses for equipment failures. Serve as a leader within both the construction team and associated teams that support the data center operations. Why AWS? Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience in bringing new design concepts from exploration to execution or mass production. Familiarity with MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems. Understanding of power management and monitoring systems. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years in project management within data centers or similar critical infrastructure experience. Knowledge of essential data center equipment. Familiarity with engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures. Acquainted with building codes and regulations, including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA. Understanding of data center engineering operations and infrastructure. Ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings across various domains. The base salary range for this position is as follows: USA, OH, Wilmington - $111,300.00 - $186,100.00 USD annually.
