Join us for an exciting opportunity to be part of the launch of our brand-new YMCA facility in Spring Grove!The Wellness Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in the wellness area while providing exceptional service to members. This role supports members with general equipment questions, ensures proper usage guidelines are followed, and helps create a positive fitness experience for all.Schedule: Two-hour morning and two-hour evening shifts available.Responsibilities include monitoring the wellness floor, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, reporting maintenance needs, enforcing safety policies, and building positive relationships with members. The ideal candidate is friendly, attentive, dependable, and passionate about promoting healthy living in alignment with the YMCA's mission and values.POSITION SUMMARY:This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Wellness Attendant maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and provides direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for members in the Wellness Center. Under the supervision of the Wellness Director or Coordinator, the Wellness Attendant is responsible for the services and operations offered in the Wellness Center while providing high quality services for members, participants, and guests of the YMCA. Greets everyone by using names whenever possible; extends thanks whenever appropriate; makes relationship building the number one priority at all times. Develops relationships with staff, members and community partners to advance the mission of the YMCA. Enhances YMCA of the Roses membership by demonstrating the Y core values while keeping the Wellness Center a safe and pleasant environment.Cleans equipment and surrounding floor area within the Wellness Center by using proper cleaning supplies and procedures.Monitors the Wellness Center by walking the floor, kindly enforces Wellness Center rules, encourages safe and proper equipment use and equipment clean up.Follows reporting and signage procedure regarding broken or missing equipment/supplies. Maintain accurate attendance records.Reviews equipment tutorials on the Y YouTube channel and via Precor's QR codes to possess a working knowledge of equipment in wellness center.Is knowledgeable of and promotes YMCA virtual and on site programs to members.Wears appropriate and approved fitness attire, therefore being easily identifiable by members. Applies YMCA of the Roses policy/procedures for emergency situations, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.Serves as a role model for other staff members by demonstrating exemplary job skills and behavior.Attends required staff meetings, educational workshops and certifications.Maintains certification by attending CEC classes and submitting required updated paperwork to the YMCA of the USA and the YMCA of the Roses.Completes additional duties as assigned by the Wellness Coordinator/Director.
