Job Description Join our dynamic Propulsion team as a Senior HR/LR Specialist, where you will be a vital partner to leadership and union stakeholders. This role is ideal for an experienced HR/LR professional who excels in a fast-paced, unionized setting and is eager to contribute to a positive and progressive workplace culture within a 24/7 operation. If you are ready to shape the workforce of the future, we want to hear from you! Labor Relations Serve as a management representative in administering local and national agreements. Counsel leaders on contract interpretation, acting as the primary management contact with union leadership. Lead local negotiations, identifying initiatives alongside operations to drive competitiveness and enhance the employee experience. Coordinate departmental activities to resolve employee grievances and present management's positions with thorough documentation. Maintain comprehensive labor relations documentation, including grievance tracking and meeting records. Provide resolution guidance on workplace conflicts, upholding policies and agreements. Analyse cultural and grievance trends, developing proactive action plans to address underlying issues. Hourly Employment Ensure optimal hourly staffing by monitoring attrition, retention, and staffing plans using data analytics. Administer hourly hiring, transfers, and separations in compliance with contractual obligations. Advise management and employees on seniority and related contractual matters. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve employee issues efficiently. Maintain integrity of HR data within Workday and other relevant systems. Salaried Human Resources Develop strong relationships with leaders to align HR strategy with business goals. Partner with Sector HR to implement enterprise-level initiatives effectively. Support Talent Management processes, including talent reviews and leadership development. Facilitate annual compensation planning for salaried employees. Interpret HR policies, engaging experts as necessary for compliance and consistency. Coach leaders on performance management and employee relations. Assist with internal investigations and related cases. Support onboarding and orientation for salaried employees to ensure high-quality experiences. Process HR transactions and ensure accurate employee data management in HR systems. Act as HR contact for student interns and early career talent in designated functions. Lead or support special HR projects and assignments for the site. Utilize data and insights to inform HR decisions and recommend actions to enhance business outcomes. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience. 5+ years of combined Human Resources and Labor Relations expertise. Experience in plant manufacturing, including HR/LR or operations support. Strong interpersonal skills for facilitation, coaching, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Proven analytical and process skills, with the ability to interpret data for actionable insights. Ability to work independently and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of simplifying complex HR/LR topics. High proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office, including Workday and Excel. Preferred Qualifications Prior HR or Labor Relations experience in a unionized manufacturing setting. Familiarity with UAW contract administration. Hands-on experience with HR systems like Kronos and Workday in a manufacturing environment. Work Expectations This is a full-time onsite position supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation. Occasional off-shift and weekend work is required to engage with employees across all shifts.
