We aim to initially automate two crucial areas—Customer Support and Compliance—with our Agentic AI. We will work collaboratively across teams to create an exceptional customer experience, enhance compliance posture, and generate significant shareholder value. What you'll be doing: Design and implement Agentic AI systems to elevate Coinbase's customer support and compliance processes. Develop a platform (primitives, orchestration solutions, tools, etc.) that enables other domains to leverage Agentic AI for their automation needs. Engage with stakeholders across various teams that contribute to Coinbase's products or manage financial operations. Contribute to the strategy and execution plan for the Coinbase Platform. Oversee project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables using your technical expertise. Mentor and guide team members on design techniques and coding best practices. Write high-quality, well-tested code that addresses customer needs. What we are looking for: 12+ years of experience in backend software engineering, specifically using Golang or similar programming languages. Experience deploying LLM-based applications into production. A proven record of delivering impactful solutions that drive significant customer engagement and processes. You possess the ability to architect and develop solutions for complex problems with high impact. Strong technical expertise in building distributed systems that handle extensive scales. Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A relentless drive to set ambitious goals and the determination to achieve them. A passion for creating an open financial system that connects people worldwide. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with LLM and Agentic AI, especially in measuring and enhancing LLM grounding to specific corpora and reducing hallucinations. Experience in customer support, compliance, or financial crime sectors. Experience in making build/buy decisions. The expected annual base salary range for this position is $253,895-$298,700 USD (excluding equity and bonus). Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility, as well as comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
