Description Join our innovative AWS team and become an essential guardian of our global cloud infrastructure! In this role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring seamless operations within our data centers, which power millions of businesses and services worldwide. The Cloud Infrastructure Technician position requires in-depth hardware and network diagnostics, physical repairs, and participation in an on-call rotation. AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring that our customers maintain continuous access to the groundbreaking services they rely on. You will be part of a diverse team that includes engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Collaborating with dedicated professionals across AWS, you will help us deliver top-tier safety and security standards while providing exceptional service capacity at low costs. NOTE: A lump sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who relocate for this position. Key job responsibilities: Perform server rack installations, hardware maintenance, and troubleshooting network issues to enhance service availability. Act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, vendors, and contractors. Participate in on-call duties as well as scheduled maintenance and change management activities. Contribute to documentation and process improvements based on operational issue analyses. Assist in interviewing, training, and onboarding new team members. Physical Requirements: Lifting and moving materials up to 40 pounds. Working in confined and/or elevated locations. Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching as necessary. Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours per day. Safely ascending and descending ladders and stairs. Working in an industrial environment. This role requires shift work, covering both day and night shifts for 24/7 operations, and may involve travel to other sites during training periods until your assigned facility is fully operational. Essential Requirements: Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as necessary. Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during the training period. Travel frequency will vary based on business needs. Basic Qualifications: Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays. 18+ months of experience in computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience. 18+ months of layer 1/2 computer networking experience (including troubleshooting and repair). Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a data center or critical environment. Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional/military experience in an IT-related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering). Industry-standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+). Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems. Experience with behavioral interviewing and hiring. History of training and onboarding new team members.
