General Purpose: In this vital role, you will focus on maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment for both customers and associates. By being a visible presence at store entrances and exits, you will help deter theft and fraud. Your responsibilities will include warmly greeting customers, ensuring compliance with package inspection policies, patrolling sales floors to identify possible theft risks, collaborating with store leadership on loss prevention strategies, and embodying our company's values while enhancing the overall Ross shopping experience. Essential Functions: Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment: Prioritize safety, assist leadership in creating a secure setting, and ensure a welcoming presence through friendly greetings and addressing safety concerns. Building Great Teams & Partnerships: Provide excellent customer service through friendly interactions, mutual respect, and actively participating in meetings and training. Representing the Company Brand: Uphold a professional appearance consistent with company standards, representing our brand principles at all times. Mitigating Theft & Fraud: Monitor for suspicious activities, gather indicators of theft, communicate effectively with management, and adhere to company theft response policies. Minimizing Operational Shortage: Enhance staff awareness of loss prevention processes and ensure adherence to proper checkout procedures. Competencies: Work Process Management Business Acumen Planning and Prioritization Talent Development Collaboration Leading by Example Effective Communication Accountability and Execution Qualifications and Skills: High school diploma or equivalent; an AA degree is preferred. Retail supervisory experience or relevant training is desirable. Loss prevention or security training is advantageous. Active Security Guard License is preferred. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong communication skills. Proven ability to build meaningful relationships with store teams. Exceptional customer service skills. Effective conflict resolution abilities. Compliance with all federal and state laws regarding security roles, including background checks and testing. Physical Requirements/ADA: Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential. Able to spend most working hours standing and moving throughout the store. Capable of lifting objects exceeding 25 lbs. Able to bend, stoop, or crouch on a regular basis. Specific roles may require additional skills and qualifications.
