Transportation Engineer II

RK&K is seeking a skilled Transportation Engineer to join our team and contribute to the innovative design and delivery of diverse Transportation Projects. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside seasoned engineers and project managers on various project delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3, and other Alternative Delivery projects. Your key responsibilities will include preparing roadway design plans using OpenRoads Designer (ORD), contributing to technical reports, modeling, and plan production tasks. This hybrid position requires candidates to work in-office at least three days per week. Occasional travel may also be necessary based on project demands. Key Responsibilities Assist in creating roadway plans, profiles, and 3D models utilizing OpenRoads Designer (ORD). Support senior engineers in the design of roadways, highways, interchanges, and related infrastructure. Help develop comprehensive technical documents, including design reports, cost estimates, and specifications. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality, cost-effective designs. Engage in alternative delivery project efforts, including design-build pursuits. Participate in meetings, conduct field visits, and coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders. Learn and apply relevant state DOT standards in your design work. Required Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in transportation engineering. Proficient in using OpenRoads Designer (ORD) for roadway design and modeling. EIT certification is required. Strong interest in engaging with Alternative Delivery Projects, such as Design-Build or P3. Excellent communication skills and a strong willingness to collaborate within a team environment. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience with relevant state DOT standards and processes. Exposure to fast-paced design or design-build project environments. Prior collaboration with contractors or experience in a multi-firm team setting.
