Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/23/2026 Duration: 16 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, flexible, rotating Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity - Registered Nurse, Oncology PCU/Medical-Surgical - Ohio Start Date: March 23, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights); assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs Highlights: 13-16 week travel contract in a specialized corrections healthcare setting Float between Oncology PCU and Medical-Surgical units with varying patient ratios (1:3 PCU, 1:4-5 MS) Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management Diverse patient population including active oncology treatment, solid tumors, hematology, and general medical-surgical diagnoses Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, PT, Respiratory Services, and more 72 hours of orientation provided; one pre-approved time off period available Requirements: Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry; at least 1 year of current specialty experience required Epic charting experience required; oncology experience preferred but not required Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) Current certifications: BLS (required), ACLS, NIHSS Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, PCA, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy care), and feeding tube management Experience with cardiac drips, heparin and IV insulin protocols, pre/post hemodialysis care, and ABG interpretation Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or director Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality care in a specialized corrections healthcare environment where staff safety is a top priority.
