Role Overview As a Senior Software Engineer functioning as the Technical Architect at Indeed, you will provide vital technical leadership on complex, multi-team platforms and systems. This role allows you to shape the technical direction of our projects while supporting teams in developing high-impact products efficiently and responsibly. Collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional partners, you will design scalable solutions, influence architectural decisions, and enhance developer capabilities. Staying updated on emerging technologies will enable you to translate new capabilities into practical, scalable solutions that bring significant value to our business and users. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving delivery speed, mitigating risks, and adopting innovative technologies. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and evolution of shared platforms, frameworks, or services that benefit multiple teams. Provide architectural guidance and direct technical leadership for complex, cross-organizational initiatives. Evaluate and advocate for the adoption of emerging technologies, specifically Generative AI, to enhance scalability, efficiency, and user productivity while considering operational excellence. Mentor and guide engineers across various disciplines, fostering technical expertise and long-term development. Work closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders to align technical strategies with business objectives, advising on enhancements, integrations, AI developments, and technical debt. Ensure compliance with architectural patterns and reference architectures, including AI components. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Required Skills and Experience Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree. At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of steering large, cross-functional initiatives. Strong experience in designing and managing distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, and APIs. Proficiency with data storage solutions including SQL and NoSQL systems, along with data analytics experience. Experience in integrating AI workflows, building evaluation frameworks for AI systems, and developing multi-agent solutions. Demonstrated experience with emerging technologies, particularly in integrating Generative AI into production environments. Compensation Overview Salary ranges for different areas: US Remote - $167,000 - $243,000; Austin Metro - $167,000 - $243,000; NYC Metro - $206,000 - $298,000; Seattle Metro - $217,000 - $315,000; Scottsdale Metro - $158,650 - $230,850; San Francisco Bay Area - $224,000 - $324,000.
