Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Provide skilled nursing care on the medical-surgical unit during the night shift at a well-established healthcare facility in West Lafayette, IN. This role offers a contract opportunity with a guaranteed 36 hours per week, including every third weekend off. You will join a resource team on the 3rd floor, floating among three Med/Surg units, delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Location:Situated in West Lafayette, Indiana, this facility is known for comprehensive medical services and a supportive clinical environment. The 3rd floor Med/Surg unit includes approximately 27-30 beds and serves patients recovering from orthopedic, general surgeries, GI issues, renal and oncology conditions, as well as various general medical cases. Responsibilities: Provide nursing care aligned with patient needs on medical-surgical and telemetry units. Manage varied patient cases including post-op ortho and general surgeries, GI, renal, and oncology. Administer medications and blood products, including Heparin drips. Operate medical equipment such as Alaris and Kangaroo pumps, vein lights, Pyxis medication system, and Vocera communication devices. Utilize Epic EMR system efficiently for documentation and communication. Float between assigned Med/Surg units to support team needs. Maintain professionalism adhering to facility dress codes and protocols. Qualifications / Desired Experience: Registered Nurse (RN) with 3+ years Med/Surg experience. Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred. Proficient use of Epic EMR documented within the last year. BLS and NIHSS certifications required. Experience with telemetry monitoring and managing complex patient care. Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance. Comfortable in a fast-paced, flexible work environment. Schedule: Night shifts: 1800-0630 hours Every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday) rotation 36 guaranteed hours per week Additional Information: Contract position Completion of computer-based training (CBTs) required before orientation. Potential to test out of Epic modules if system knowledge is current.
