Acute Care Physical Therapist Responsibilities Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for acute-care patients, including those with orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, medical/surgical, and trauma-related conditions. Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans focused on restoring function, mobility, and independence. Provide interventions including therapeutic exercise, functional mobility training, gait training, balance activities, and patient/caregiver education. Document evaluations, daily treatments, progress notes, and discharge recommendations in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, case managers, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, and other members of the care team. Collaborate on discharge planning, including recommending appropriate next levels of care and durable medical equipment. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to clinical decision-making. Maintain compliance with departmental safety procedures, infection prevention practices, and quality standards. Support mentorship, onboarding, and collaboration with therapy assistants and students as applicable. Requirements: Required BLS (Basic Life Support) Required PT (Physical Therapy) Or PT (Physical Therapy) Eligible to obtain Or PT (Physical Therapy) Temporary and licensure within 6 months Required Bachelor's Physical Therapy Preferred 1-year Physical Therapist Equal Opportunity Employer Veterans/Disabled
