Impact Communication Partners, Inc. is currently seeking an Medical Director with a strong background in science or medicine to join our Medical & Scientific Affairs team to develop high-level promotional and medical content across a wide spectrum of therapeutic areas. The ideal candidate should possess strong project management skills, the ability to work and collaborate in teams and be a problem solver who enjoys working on a range of projects from complex scientific analyses to creating innovative communication solutions for our clients. Who will be successful in this role? Someone who is passionate about the sciences and has the ability to translate complex medical and scientific information into client deliverables. The candidate should have demonstrated ability to ramp up into new therapeutic areas and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This position offers an opportunity to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders while managing multiple projects. This role offers great opportunities for growth and development and is fully remote. Duties and Responsibilities • Writes high-quality, scientifically accurate, and compliant content to meet client objectives across a variety of project types for medical affairs and commercial teams (slide decks, discussion guides, post-meeting executive summaries, training modules, manuscripts, etc.) • Supports the preparation of materials for and participates in kick-off and other client meetings and teleconferences • Interacts and establishes networks with key opinion leaders and clients • Collaborates with the editorial team to deliver program content on time and on budget • Follows internal and client-driven processes and procedures to deliver projects to agreed specifications and deadlines • Partners with Client Services in new business development and provides strategic guidance for pitches • Prepares and delivers short training sessions for Impact associates on therapeutic areas and current products as needed • Ability to travel 25% of time per year to US and Global advisory boards, congresses, and client meetings Key Competencies • Ability to analyze and distill data to produce effective content deliverables for medical affairs and commercial teams and to understand key differences • Ability to develop scientifically and medically accurate, creative content solutions to help meet client objectives and overcome obstacles • Ability to translate scientific and clinical concepts and data into meaningful communications that are strategically aligned with client needs • Ability to work in partnership with clients to develop strategy for disease state and commercial communications from pre-launch to lifecycle management • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with and relate to all levels of personnel both within and outside the company • Detail oriented with a keen follow-through and sense of urgency; must exhibit a high degree of ownership and ability to meet deadlines • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment • Ability to work well under pressure, stay positive, and be a team player • Ability to represent Impact strongly at pitches and all client and KOL interactions Qualifications/Skills • MD, PharmD, NP/PA, or PhD in a life science discipline • 5+ years of industry-based experience developing promotional content/medical education • Medical communications agency experience preferred • Must have made the transition from clinical/scientific to business • Superior proofreading proficiency • A keen eye for detail across scientific content and editorial standards • Superior ability in translating clinical and scientific concepts to client strategy • Demonstrable passion for writing, with a strong command of the English language • Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas, both orally and in writing with strong presentation skills • Excellent time management skills to balance workload across multiple projects • Comfortable with the use of online and other information resources • Facility with the Microsoft Office suite (with strong Powerpoint knowledge), proficiency in typing notes, and, ideally, the ability to use referencing software • Excellent people skills in working with associates and clients To apply, please send your resume, cover letter and therapeutic areas of experience: Impact offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits including a generous paid time-off program, employer-contributed medical benefits, dental and vision, HSA, FSA, and 401[k] plan with employer match.
