RN - CVOR Pediatrics (Surgical Services) Oak Lawn, IL 60453 10-Hour Day Shift | 40 hrs/week Contract: Feb 2 - May 2, 2026 Unit Overview This position supports the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) - Pediatric Surgical Services within the Surgery Department, providing specialized perioperative care to pediatric patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures. Job Summary The Pediatric CVOR Registered Nurse provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care for pediatric cardiovascular surgery patients. The RN works collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusionists, and the surgical team to ensure patient safety, clinical excellence, and efficient surgical flow. Key Responsibilities Deliver perioperative nursing care for pediatric cardiovascular surgical procedures Prepare, maintain, and monitor a sterile operating room environment Assist with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care Monitor patient condition, vital signs, and hemodynamics during procedures Manage CVOR-specific equipment, instruments, and surgical supplies Ensure compliance with AORN standards , safety protocols, and hospital policies Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and OR staff Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record Participate in required on-call coverage Schedule & On-Call Requirements Shift: 10-hour Day Shift On-Call: 1 shift weekly 1 weekend per month (Friday through Monday morning) Total on-call requirement: 125 hours/month Weekend Rotation: None Holiday Requirement: 1 holiday per contract Position Details Job Type: Contract Hire Type: Contractor Job Site: Onsite Standard Hours: 40 hours/week Floating: None Location Oak Lawn, Illinois Patient Service Area: South Chicagoland
