Human Resources Generalist Located in Gardena California, Permaswage designs and manufactures separable and permanent fluid fittings and installation tooling for aerospace and defense applications. The HR Generalist focuses on onboarding and employee relations while supporting key HR processes, compliance, and continuous improvement. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Onboarding & Orientation Lead weekly onboarding for an average of 35 new hires, ensuring a smooth and well-organized experience. Handle all pre-orientation steps, including background checks, collecting new-hire documents, and preparing employee records. Facilitate the weekly orientation session: coordinate facilitators, present HR topics, and ensure completion of all required training and compliance documentation. Follow up on post-orientation tasks such as benefits enrollment, uniform distribution, badges, and system access. Ensure onboarding documents and records are properly filed and stored. Employee Relations Build strong, trust-based relationships with hourly employees, supervisors, and managers by maintaining regular presence on the production floor. Lead employee relations investigations: gather statements, assess facts, document findings, and recommend fair and consistent outcomes. Guide supervisors on conflict resolution, disciplinary practices, communication strategies, and policy interpretation. Support a positive and respectful work environment by addressing concerns promptly and coaching leaders toward effective employee management. Manage sensitive or emotional situations with professionalism, neutrality, and sound judgment. Performance Management Support Support the Sr. HR Generalist and HR Manager in coordinating the annual performance review process. Assist supervisors in navigating the progressive disciplinary process, ensuring consistent documentation and fair application. Provide guidance on delivering constructive feedback practices to improve communication and strengthen leadership effectiveness. Employee File Management & Recordkeeping Maintain accurate, confidential, and audit-ready employee files in digital and physical formats. Organize, archive, and update documents such as I-9s, certifications, medical files, performance paperwork, and policy acknowledgments. Support improvements to HR recordkeeping systems through structured digitalization and process enhancements. Legal Compliance & Policy Support Apply relevant employment laws and internal policies to daily HR decisions and documentation. Support audits and ensure HR processes remain compliant with federal, state, and company standards. Continuous Improvement Mindset Proactively challenge outdated practices and identify opportunities to streamline HR workflows. Lead or support digitalization initiatives that improve accuracy, efficiency, and employee experience. Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within HR and across the facility. This position is not limited to the responsibilities listed above. The HR Generalist may also support the HR team in areas such as recruitment, training coordination, internal communication, the activities committee, and other HR projects as needed. Required Skills: Strong team engagement with the ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships. Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy. Excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills. Ability to adapt quickly and stay effective in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Required Experience: 1-3 years experience in a similar role Previous experience in a Human Resources "Generalist" role in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset Experience with ADP Workforce Now, and/or Workday HRIS preferred Spanish as a second language preferred Level of Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration (Industrial Relations), or similar field from an accredited college/university A PHR or SHRM certification preferred All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran. For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $72000 to $80000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
