About the Role: The Physician Office Radiology Technician plays a critical role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services within a physician office setting at Bloomington Medical Services. This part-time position focuses on performing radiologic examinations that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions accurately and efficiently. The technician ensures patient safety and comfort while operating radiology equipment and adhering to established protocols and regulatory standards. Collaboration with healthcare professionals and maintaining detailed patient records are essential to support clinical decision-making. Ultimately, this role contributes to improved patient outcomes by providing precise imaging services in a timely and professional manner. Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Current and valid Radiologic Technologist (RT) certification or equivalent licensure as required by the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Demonstrated knowledge of radiographic procedures and safety standards. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a physician office or outpatient clinical setting. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and digital imaging software. Additional certifications such as ARRT in specialized imaging modalities. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Experience with patient scheduling and administrative duties related to radiology services. Responsibilities: Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures as ordered by physicians, ensuring proper positioning and technique to obtain high-quality images. Operate and maintain radiology equipment in compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Maintain accurate and detailed records of procedures, patient information, and imaging results in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to facilitate efficient workflow and support patient care. Adhere to infection control protocols and radiation safety measures to protect patients, staff, and self. Assist in scheduling and managing patient appointments to optimize the use of radiology resources. Skills: The required skills enable the technician to perform precise radiographic imaging while ensuring patient safety and comfort, which is fundamental to daily operations. Effective communication skills are essential for explaining procedures to patients and collaborating with healthcare providers to support diagnostic accuracy. Technical proficiency with radiology equipment and software ensures high-quality image capture and proper equipment maintenance. Preferred skills such as familiarity with EMR systems enhance workflow efficiency and accurate documentation. Organizational abilities help manage appointment scheduling and administrative tasks, contributing to a smooth and patient-centered radiology service.
