These positions do require overnight stays as part of our OTR driver operation. It is an outstanding opportunity for newer drivers as well or veteran drivers looking for a change from being out on the road for weeks at a time. OTR runs typically leave Sundays from Plymouth and the drivers typically are getting back home Thursdays and Fridays to get there restarts at home. Position Overview:The Truck Driver is responsible for operating trucks to transport various types of freight to a variety of customers and customer locations. This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of equipment/trucks. Work will be performed per the dispatcher/supervisors instruction. Drive tractor-trailer combination, applying knowledge of commercial driver regulations to transport and deliver products or materials. Maneuver truck safely into loading or unloading position. Read bill of lading and obtain customers signature. Perform daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines. Secure cargo for transport using, straps, load bars, load locks. Obtain receipts or signature for delivered goods. Support and participate in safety meetings and activities. Keep vehicle in a clean and orderly condition. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications/Requirements:Minimum 22 years of age. CDL Class A. Minimum 2 years of tractor trailer driving experience preferred . Finishing program for those with less than 2 years experience Complete employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening. Physical Requirements:The physical requirements/demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Truck Driver to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Job requires, climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, sitting/driving, and shifting gears. Able to climb in and out truck 3-4 steps (elevated 4+ feet into cab), multiple times during the course of the workday. Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear. May require sitting for extended periods of time. Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth and the ability to focus. Must be able to lift hood of truck unassisted; with a hood pull force of 30 pounds on an on-going daily basis.
