Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Nurse Extern, you will play a vital role in the nursing team, gaining hands-on experience to explore the Registered Nurse role fully. Your responsibilities will include: Providing essential care to patients, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring overall comfort and hygiene. Performing nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, and specimen collection, gaining experience and confidence in your skills. Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to ensure seamless patient care. Assisting patients and families in understanding care plans and providing guidance for health and recovery. Maintaining clean and safe patient areas by following infection prevention protocols, managing equipment, and keeping an organized environment. Enhancing your growth and contributing to patient care by engaging in learning opportunities and collaborating with your supervisor to establish a personal career development plan. Qualifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited nursing program. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential is required.
