The units strive for a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 or 1:1, which allows the nurse to truly make an impact on the patient and family. Multidisciplinary rounds are one way to support a strong physician/nurse collaboration as the nurse is involved in the decisions that affect the patient and their input is valued. Our computerized documentation system allows nurses to document at the bedside.
