A critical care nursing opportunity awaits in a well-established Level III Trauma Center Intensive Care Unit (ICU) located in Quincy, MA. This contract role is designed for experienced ICU Registered Nurses with a strong background in Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) nursing and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver exceptional nursing care for a diverse adult patient population, including those with conditions such as substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric illnesses, diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeding, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. Manage patient care within a 20-bed MICU, maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 for high acuity cases. Float between Medical/Surgical units as needed, caring for 4 to 5 patients in those settings. Collaborate closely with attending physicians and residents who are present 24/7 in the ICU. Competently interpret telemetry strips and perform accurate documentation using the EPIC electronic medical record system. Desired Experience and Qualifications: Must hold an active Massachusetts RN license. Minimum of 2 years continuous clinical experience in an adult MICU setting. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required. Strong telemetry reading skills are essential. Available for rotating day shifts as well as night shifts, with the ability to work every other weekend. Schedule/Hours: Night shift position with every other weekend requirement. Rotating day shifts available, including 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a time frames.
