Job Description

Deliver expert nursing care on a 27-bed medical-surgical unit focused on a diverse inpatient population ranging from 18 years old and up, primarily elderly patients recovering from surgery or managing chronic conditions. Skilled RNs with at least two years of relevant experience will find this opportunity to apply advanced clinical skills in a dynamic healthcare setting. Location: Newport, NH - Nestled in a welcoming New England community known for its scenic beauty and small-town charm, Newport offers a peaceful living environment with easy access to outdoor activities, local culture, and a supportive healthcare network. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality care to post-operative and medical patients with diagnoses including orthopedic surgery, general surgery, CHF, pneumonia, and alcohol-related conditions. Perform clinical duties such as managing post-surgical drains, central lines, Foley catheters, feeding tubes (G, J, NG, PEG), IV medication administration and IV push, wound care, and oxygen therapy. Collaborate with healthcare teams to maintain appropriate patient ratios (RN 5:1, LNA 3:1) ensuring patient safety and effective care delivery. Utilize clinical judgment and skills in a fast-paced environment, including telemetry monitoring preferred. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum two years of medical-surgical nursing experience. Current NH RN License or Compact RN License with proof of state residency. BLS certification is required; ACLS certification preferred. Experience with Epic electronic medical records and telemetry preferred but not required. Proven competency in complex nursing care such as central line maintenance and post-surgical care. Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week. Every other weekend and rotating holidays.
