Payroll Assistant The Payroll Assistant is responsible for providing assistance to the Payroll Director including general administrative office support such as clerical duties, filing and data input. This position will also provide accounting clerical support. Responsibilities include: Assist with the execution of bi-weekly payroll functions in compliance with external regulations and internal policies for the entire organization, including: entering of data into payroll software, changing recurring earning and deductions, maintaining all changes to payroll records, tracking and entering all bonuses and maintaining all paid time off plans Reviews timecards for all employees to make sure there are no errors Prepares and submits payroll documents Adheres to all state and federal regulations for payroll processing Processes overtime payments Calculate and submit pay adjustments when necessary Organize, prepare and maintain confident payroll record information Maintain payroll and voluntary deduction files and records Generate payroll reports from financial accounting system Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies Provide payroll support to employees Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information Provide administrative support to accounting functions Ability to use 10-key by touch Ability to input and type repetitively for extended periods of time Excellent organizational skills Functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well Fast learner, flexible and able to perform in a multi-task in a busy work environment Must have the visual, physical and auditory ability to act swiftly in emergency situations Qualifications include: 2+ years' experience in related field and/or position related college course work Payroll processing experience preferred Licensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: American Red Cross American Heart Association American Safety & Health Institute Pay Range: USD $19.69 - USD $23.63 /Yr.
