Job Description

Provide advanced critical care within a specialized cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU), supporting patients recovering from complex cardiac surgeries and interventions. This role is a contract opportunity based in Cibolo, TX, offering a dynamic clinical environment with device training provided to enhance your skills. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and manage patients requiring hemodynamic support, including Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines. Operate and adjust mechanical ventilators tailored to critical care needs. Deliver post-operative care for patients following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), ventricular assist device (VAD) implantation, and cardiac catheterization with support devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), Impella, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Utilize clinical judgment to assess and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions. Accurately document care using electronic health records (preferably Meditech system). Adhere to unit guidelines including rounding, shift attendance, and compliance with dress code policies. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current active Texas RN license (temporary licenses not accepted). Minimum of 2 years ICU experience with strong critical thinking skills. Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management. Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIH stroke scale are required. Preferred experience with IABP, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and Meditech charting. Ability and willingness to float as per hospital policy. Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts, available 7 AM-7:30 PM and 7 PM-7:30 AM. Rotating weekends. Guaranteed 36 hours per week. Professional Attire and Conduct: Navy scrub tops and pants; navy or white scrub jackets. Maintain clean, professional appearance with neat hair and minimal visible body art or piercings. Compliance with hospital attendance standards and documented policies mandatory.
