Candidates must have continuous work experience in one location, preferably in an MICU. Floating is required, mostly to Medical/Surgical units, with a patient load of up to 4 or 5 patients. Rotating shifts may include day and evening shifts as needed, with some positions on nights. The RN to patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients. When floated, the ratio may adjust to 1:4 or 1:5. This position involves caring for a wide range of adult patients, including those with complex medical conditions.
