As a Pre op/PACU nurse at our facility, you have the opportunity to enjoy NO CALL, NO WEEKENDS, AND NO HOLIDAYS. We are a multispecialty surgery center including the areas of Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, ENT, GYN, Rectal Surgery, and Ophthalmology. The Pre op/PACU RN has the responsibility to plan, direct, organize, coordinate, and implement all nursing care services for the pre and post-surgical patient in a manner consistent with our mission of caring for every patient as if they are our family member, each patient, each and every time. Required Skills AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: (include but not limited to) Admission and discharge of patients. Completes ongoing patient assessment and documentation. Participates in the development of the patients care plan to include patient problems, goals, evaluations, and interventions. Provides patient and family education throughout the continuum of care. Proficient IV skills. Demonstrates age specific standards in caring for the pediatric through adult population. Ability to organize and follow through on initiative. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong customer service skills. Required Experience QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Virginia Nursing License. Current BLS, ACLS. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in critical care or PACU preferred. Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
