Duties You will be responsible for assessing current and proposed technical modifications (i.e. via Engineering Change Proposals and Technical Directives) to aircraft weapon systems. You will evaluate engineering and logistics data sources as well as author and edit assigned technical manuals. You will prepare and submit Contract Data Requirements List for technical data packages for modification programs. You will provide configuration control of data to ensure that suitability, presentation, and utility is maintained within the Fleet operational environment. You will accomplish other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS-07 Grade Level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of qualifying specialized experience includes: (1) Applying working knowledge of technical manual and publication authoring software and tools (e.g., EAGLE Publishing Systems, Arbortext, Interleaf/Quicksilver, etc.); and (2) Developing, authoring, and/or managing technical manuals and publications for assigned aircraft platform(s). OR You have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree. OR You have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled. OR You have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: For the GS-09 Level: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree. OR Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree. OR Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled. OR A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
