Registered Nurse (RN) | Correctional Location: Broadview, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,210 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/13/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Registered Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: One (1) year of professional nursing experience preferred License: Must possess current licensure in the state of employment Certifications: A valid driver's license required Must-Have: Graduate from an accredited college, university or nursing program with a degree/diploma in nursing. Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) plans and provides comprehensive nursing care. This includes executing providers' orders and administering medications. The RN assists providers in examinations and treatment of patients. Nursing and supervisory techniques are applied in the care and treatment of patients. Technical and clinical procedures are performed within the scope of education and licensure. Appropriate nursing skills are applied in the treatment of patients. The RN attends sick calls with the physician to see patients. A list of patients to be examined is prepared, along with the examining room and equipment. Pill call is operated, and medication is dispensed and documented as required by policies. The RN communicates with providers for medication and treatment orders during emergencies. Assessment and examination of new patients with illnesses or injuries are conducted. Patients who become ill or injured are referred to emergency rooms or appropriate facilities as needed. Emergency procedures are performed when necessary, notifying providers for treatment orders. The RN assists in coordinating professional medical services provided by contract personnel. Monitoring of inpatient hospitalizations for early releases is done as directed. The RN provides guidance, supervision, and monitoring of nursing care given by staff. Maintaining good working relationships with facility staff and providers is essential. Established corporate and facility policies are utilized in decision-making. Regular evaluation of medical services is conducted to prevent inappropriate use or duplication. Absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records are maintained. Assistance is provided in reviewing medical files to ensure documentation of services. All potential catastrophic illnesses are closely monitored. Audits of pharmacy use for adherence to formulary are conducted as required. Compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws, especially regarding controlled substances, is mandatory. Observation and recording of patient behavior is essential. Medical units are inspected for contraband items, securely storing or safely disposing supplies. Health counseling and health education are provided on an individual or group basis as required. Assistance is given in preparing and maintaining various records, reports, and logs. Reading, analyzing, comprehending, and interpreting medical and technical procedures is required. Processing and responding to lawsuits may be necessary, as well as attending court hearings. Facilitation of accreditation of the medical program by providing required levels of services is expected. Preparation and dissemination of safety and accident reports as required by policies is part of the job. Appropriate actions are taken in cases of serious incidents and emergencies.
