The nurse will be responsible for caring for critically ill patients. Patient to nurse ratios are typically 1:2, occasionally 1:3. Weekend shifts required every other weekend. Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs. The unit sees a variety of diagnoses and an increased volume of cardiac and neurological patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The work environment supports rapid response teams and code teams. The nurse will be required to monitor and manage dysrhythmias and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips. Experience with patient care charting systems is preferred.
