Senior IBM MQ Administrator My name is Bill Stevens, and I have a new contract to hire Senior IBM MQ Administrator opportunity available for a major firm located in Holmdel, New Jersey and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania that could be of interest to you, please review my specification below and I am available at any time to speak with you so please feel free to call me. The forty-hour work week schedule will be hybrid, three days a week in the office and two days remote. The choice of onsite work location will be with the candidate and he / she can work in either of the firms office locations. The ideal candidate should also possess a green card or be of citizenship. No Visa entanglements and no H1-B holding company submittals. This position pays $90.00 per hour on a w-2 hourly basis or $100.00 per hour on a Corp basis. The Corp rate is for independent contractors only and not third-party firms. No Visa entanglements and no H1-B holding companies. Position Summary: The firm is seeking a Senior IBM MQ Administrator with hands-on experience building IBM MQ systems from the ground up. The ideal candidate excels at complex troubleshooting, communicates effectively with both technical and business teams, and values a culture focused on integrity, high standards, and collaboration. Experience: 10+ years of experience Strong hands-on expertise in IBM MQ Administration In-depth understanding of messaging concepts and design patterns Proven experience implementing High Availability/Disaster Recovery solutions MQ Security (TLS, CHLAUTH, OAM) Proficient in Linux/Unix system administration Working knowledge of IBM Application Connect Enterprise (ACE), formerly IBM Integration Bus (IIB) Experience with shell scripting for automation and operational efficiency Demonstrated ability to drive impact quickly, lead change, and work effectively with minimal supervision Good to have: Experience integrating applications with WebSphere Application Server Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, along with familiarity with DevOps practices Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools, including Splunk Working knowledge of Java programming You will: Design, develop, and deliver IBM MQ solutions, including Multi-Instance Queue Managers and High Availability (HA) architectures Lead IBM MQ deployments, including automation and standardization initiatives Participate in on-call support on a rotational basis to ensure platform stability and availability Contribute to AWS cloud migration and modernization projects Collaborate effectively with both onshore and offshore teams Provide hands-on technical solutions to complex business challenges, translating requirements into scalable technical and process solutions Interpret business and technical requirements, perform complex analysis, and present options and recommendations to achieve desired outcomes Develop advanced technology concepts and guide them through implementation into production-ready solutions Own middleware patching and upgrade activities, including IBM MQ and IBM Application Connect Enterprise (ACE) The interview process will include an initial phone or virtual interview screening.
