Description Job Overview: As a Community Management Apprentice, you will participate in a rotational program providing access and firsthand experience to the many facets of our organization. The program will include two phases: a corporate office training phase and a field-facing community association manager partnership phase. This 11-week program is designed to provide a "fast track" for individuals looking to join the community association management industry. Our curated roadmap trains, engages, and challenges individuals who are the future Community Association Managers of FirstService Residential Illinois. This in-person opportunity is based out of our Chicago corporate office . Throughout the program, you will travel as needed to on-site properties across the Chicagoland area , as well as our Suburban corporate office in Hoffman Estates, IL. Your Responsibilities: Complete a task list of applicable property operations duties, as assigned by the overseeing Community Association Manager. Tasks may include administrative support, customer service inquiries, processing information in Connect , Cyan, and BuildingLink ; and working on building projects File v endor invoices, r esident filing, p roject filing, n otice filing, and upload documents to scanner files. Create new files and/or add titles as requested. Shadow existing team members to oversee customer interactions with residents, board members, vendors either by phone, email, fax or in person . Assist with work orders, open Resident Inquiries , and resident move ins and move outs. Attend monthly board meeting with assigned Community Association Manager. Interact with and assist coworkers, residents, unit owners, and vendors either by phone, email, fax, or in person. routine phone calls and follow up on email and other messages, as needed. Ensure the telephone is answered properly and messages are handled courteously, accurately and in a timely manner. Respond to client communications and address issues within one business day. Monitor and address resident disputes as required and build a positive relationship between residents and management. Create and update vendor lists, parking lists, owner certificate of insurance data, and various other types of correspondence as needed. Aid in creation of notices and plan with the appropriate individual for pick-up and posting as directed, removing postings as needed. Photocopy documents needed for meetings and assist with meeting and building event set up. Prepare orientation packages for new resident orientations. Assist with monthly and weekly report information, including any relevant copying. C omplete course requirements for obtaining the Certified Manager of Community Association (CMCA) designation, which includes enrolling in and completing the M100 course . Complete supplemental coursework in the Company's learning management software, Elevate . Assignments will assist & accelerate development to further facilitate growth. Skills & Qualifications: Pursuit of an accredited Associate's or Bachelor's degree, c ompleted Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field , or equivalent hands-on experience gained through prior careers, internships, volunteer roles, or self-directed learning. 1 year of work experience in an office, retail, or hospitality environment. Candidates transitioning from another industry with transferrable strengths such as problem-solving, communication, adaptability, and a growth mindset are strongly encouraged to apply. Works effectively with coworkers, clients, customers, and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; addresses problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions. Superior oral and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Compensation: $ 18.00 / hour What We Offer: As a full-time temporary associate, you will be eligible for paid sick time, paid personal time, and tuition reimbursement to complete the M100 course through the Community Associations Institute.
