Description This role is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This role is responsible for supervising a team of 5 to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and analysis to support activities. Open to hybrid working schedule. Requirements DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: month and end-year process accounts payable/receivable cash receipts general ledger payroll HR Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close. Supervise the daily banking requirements. Ensure the accurate and timely processing of ACH and wire transactions. Collaborates with other managers to support overall company goals and objectives. Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department. Advises Accounting team regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions. Responds to inquiries from the CEO and company leaders regarding financial results, special reporting requests and initiatives. Provides training and support to new and existing staff as needed. Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc. Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year, monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of team. Support and communicate with Leadership team with special projects and workflow process improvements. Manage HR responsibilities and ensure that best practices are established. QUALIFICATIONS A minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting required. 7 years prior experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area 2+ years supervisory experience Excellent verbal and written communications skills Track record of achieving goals Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Advanced logical deduction skills Must possess excellent time management skills. Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Strong organizational and analytical skills Willingness to establish and maintain effective team relationships.
