Release and Deployment Management Lead

Job Description Job Duties: Perform analysis on release and deployment methodology and tool sets and provide recommendations for improvement to the BPA Call SACOR for approval. Implement approved process/toolset improvement recommendations.• Maintain congruency between Development and Pre-Production and the Production environments. Coordinate with system/software owners for proper change and configuration management between Development, Pre-Production and Production environments. Maintain a diverse image library to include images for all unique workstations in the environment. Perform monthly and on-demand third-party software update testing and deployment. Perform monthly and on-demand security patch/update testing and deployment. Coordinate testing and deployment with system administrator/application owner prior to deployment into the Development, Pre-Production and Production environments. Perform workstation update/patch deployment package testing. Coordinate with NRC security teams to perform monthly workstation Gold Image deployment package scanning and validation. Ensure workstation and operating system updates are functionally tested. Coordinate with ICAM team to perform workstation Group Policy Object (GPO) and security change testing, scanning, and validation. Coordinate with Compute and Storage and System and Database Service Areas to perform new server testing and scanning. Coordinate with Network and Security Engineering Service Areas to perform new hub, router, switch and firewall scanning and testing. Coordinate with application owner and security team to perform new server application deployment package testing and scanning. Coordinate with the DR/COOP Service Area to provide instance and environment back up and DR/COOP support. Qualification (Degree, Years of Experience & Skills): Experience: 10+ years IT experience 6+ years Dev/Test environment management 4+ years DevOps/CI-CD oversight Experience supporting Agile testing frameworks Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline Certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Agilist DevOps certification (Azure/AWS) ISTQB (preferred) ITIL v4 Foundation Strong project management skills; experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from the envisioning stage through to implementation, involving internal personnel, Contractors, and vendors; ability to analyze project needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives in a fast paced, high pressure and relatively complex technical environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels High standards of respect for individuals, excellence, and service to the customer The release and deployment management lead should possess: Experience supporting software environments and release deployment in a similar environment (minimum of 4,000 workstations and 1,000 servers) and have orchestrated and executed complex releases and updates in both environments. AGILE and ITIL expertise as well as experience in leveraging the applicable aspects of each discipline into a client's release and deployment processes. Working knowledge of MS SCCM. Experience identifying and offering improvements and enhancements to a client's Release process and to work with the client to implement changes. Demonstrated knowledge of programming constructs such as Visual Basic or PowerShell, so as to facilitate customized deployments. Experience preparing and maintaining communications templates for all deployment activities as well as operate and update web and/or SharePoint portals with associated information.
