Position Summary: The HR Generalist (HRG) will play a key role in supporting the Corporate HR function located in our Philadelphia Growth Hub office by supporting the execution of critical HR strategies and programs. Reporting to the Sr. HR Manager, the HR Generalist will partner closely with mid-level managers and leadership teams to manage employee relations, deliver high-impact HR initiatives, and ensure consistent and fair people practices across the organization. This role will support the execution of HR programs, support cyclical processes, support cross-functional projects, and provide HR data analysis to inform strategic decision-making. The HRG will act as a trusted resource for performance management, compliance, and employee engagement while also having responsibility for core HR administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment, helping to translate HR strategy into action in close partnership with the HR Corporate team. Key Responsibilities HR Operations & Administration Manage daily HR activities including onboarding, offboarding, contract changes, and employment documentation. Maintain accurate employee records and coordinate with the HR Data Specialist to ensure HRIS data integrity. Oversee time and attendance processes - including timesheet validation, absence tracking, and leave management. Administer benefits enrollment, updates, and employee communications. Ensure all employee lifecycle transactions are processed accurately and on time. Conduct investigations and fact-finding interviews, writing up findings and recommending actions for minor to moderate issues, while escalating complex or high-risk cases as necessary. Coach and support mid-level managers on writing performance documentation, developing performance improvement plans (PIPs), and attending performance discussions as an HR presence, ensuring consistency and fairness across teams. Support the execution of HR strategy and handle policy updates, compliance activities, employee communications, and engagement initiatives. Evaluate and identify learning and training opportunities for managers and associates; develop and implement training plans to address gaps or foster ongoing development in alignment with business needs. Support HR KPI deliverables through reporting and data analytics, analyzing HR data and metrics to support strategic decision-making and business goals. Serve as a go-to resource for HR questions not covered by HR reps, providing support and advice as needed. Support exit interviews and the offboarding process, ensuring smooth transitions and capturing insights for organizational improvement. Oversee the leave of absence and reasonable accommodation process and provide support to HR team. Track LOA progress and serve as a point of contact for employees, managers, and thirdparty administrators. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies, mitigating any risk in HR practices. Support the Sr. HR Manager and other members of the HR team on the execution of cross-functional projects, contributing to the broader organizational objectives. Provide support to people managers in corporate departments regarding performance management, employee relations, staffing, interviewing, investigations, interactive processes, and development support. Support verification of employment, tuition reimbursement processing, and respond to benefit- or employment-related inquiries. Assist with EDD claims, unemployment responses, and documentation management. Maintain accurate HR files, I9 documentation, and support monthly/quarterly I9 audits. Assist with document control for external audits and provide requested materials to 3rdparty auditors. Payroll Coordination Collect, validate, and process payroll input (new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, leave deductions, etc.). Liaise with payroll to ensure timely and accurate payroll runs. 3. Employee Experience & Support Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, pay, benefits, and attendance. Support employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives. Gather feedback and escalate complex issues to the HR Manager as appropriate. 4. Policy, Compliance & Recordkeeping Ensure compliance with labor regulations, timekeeping laws, and company policies. Maintain and audit HR and payroll records for accuracy and compliance. Partner with the HR Manager to implement and communicate policy changes. 5. Talent & Performance Support Support recruitment logistics, offer preparation, and new hire onboarding. Coordinate performance review cycles and assist managers in completing related HR tasks. Track learning and development participation. 6. HR Collaboration & Improvement Work closely with the HR Data Specialist to leverage analytics for process improvement. Maintain HR dashboards and perform routine data audits to ensure accuracy. Generate reports and support HR leadership with data needed for business reviews or compliance. Help prepare HR communications, job aids, and resources. Participate in HR projects such as process automation, HRIS upgrades, and employee communications. Promote consistency and fairness across HR practices. Provide daily HR support to corporate client groups, ensuring responsive and highquality service. Qualifications 3-5 years of progressive HR experience in a Generalist, HR Representative, or HR Operations role. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices. Experience supporting employee relations investigations and performance management processes. Proficiency in HRIS systems and strong capability in data management/reporting. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively across all levels.
