Job Title: Logistics PlannerJob Description We are seeking a Supply Chain and Logistics Planner to effectively plan, coordinate, and optimize the movement of materials, finished goods, and equipment across multiple departments at our site. This role focuses on minimizing freight costs, preventing delays, and ensuring materials arrive when and where they are needed. The position is based at our Austin, TX campus and will report to the Material Operations team lead. Responsibilities Collaborate with Batch Plant operators and Project Managers to coordinate material deliveries and ensure alignment with production schedules and job site timelines. Coordinate with carriers, freight brokers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs). Optimize freight costs through route planning, mode selection, and carrier negotiations. Track and report logistics KPIs such as OTIF, freight cost per unit, and transit time. Maintain accurate shipping documentation, including BOLs, delivery tickets, and carrier invoices. Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delivery delays or disruptions. Analyze freight spend and identify cost-reduction opportunities. Balance 4-6 drivers at once, address driver-related issues, and handle dispatch-related tasks. Generate SOPs and occasionally work directly with drivers, bypassing brokers. Physically print out BOLs and facilitate the loading and delivery mechanism. Utilize MS Excel and Slack to coordinate shipment plans with teams. Participate in daily meetings to cover project channeling and plans. Provide feedback and ask questions to improve processes. Essential Skills 1+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, or logistics within a construction or manufacturing environment. 2-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation planning, or supply chain coordination. Experience with TMS, ERP, or MRP systems. Proficient in logistics, supply chain, dispatch, SAP, Microsoft Office, shipping and receiving, and Microsoft Excel. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of freight terminology, Incoterms, and transportation regulations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred). Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficient in Excel and data analysis. Experience with LTL, FTL, intermodal, and parcel shipping. Background in manufacturing, distribution, or construction materials. Netsuite experience is a plus. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.00/hr.
