Safety first - Join a contractor committed to excellence and doing the job right. What you will be doing: Evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring successful bid and project consideration. Develop creative solutions to problems and identify ways to increase profit. Work with heavy civil scopes, including excavation, asphalt, and concrete. Prepare and maintain bid administration tasks, including plan reproduction. Communicate effectively with subcontractors and vendors. Prepare and transmit subcontractor bid packages and addenda. Ensure proper subcontractor coverage on bid day. Contact supply houses for additional subcontractor bids. Perform comprehensive bid analysis and scoping for trades. Translate budget into Viewpoint post-notification of low bid. Conduct handoff meetings and review drawings with Project Management. Complete project kick-off forms and ensure compliance. Award subcontractors in a timely manner and manage relationships. Experience you will need: Knowledge of heavy highway construction industry practices and procedures. Detail-oriented, organized, and accurate. Ability to multi-task across several bids simultaneously. Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, Viewpoint, and HCSS Heavy Bid and Heavy Job. Focus on site work excavation, stone placement, asphalt, and concrete Strong verbal and written communication skills. Self-directed and motivated with demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to complete projects on time and on budget. Strong negotiation skills. Familiarity with AutoCAD and Carlson takeoff software is preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or 8-12 years of heavy highway or airport experience.
