Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical/Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent Date Posted: 3/9/2026 Location: Brooklyn Public Schools Job Title: Executive Assistant to the Superintendent Location: Superintendent's Office Position Type: Full-Time, Confidential, Non-Bargaining Unit Position Position Summary The Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative support to the Superintendent and ensures the efficient day-to-day operation of the Superintendent's Office. The position requires strong organizational skills, discretion, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, timeliness and professionalism. The Executive Assistant serves as a key liaison between the Superintendent's Office, Board of Education, school-based administrative staff, families, and the broader community. Knowledge, Skills and Key Responsibilities Organize, coordinate, and manage the daily operations of the Superintendent's Office. Demonstrate strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Exhibit strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Prepare and manage correspondence, reports, and communications on behalf of the Superintendent, including the preparation and distribution of Board of Education meeting agendas, packets, and minutes. Maintain proficiency in office and productivity software, including Google Workspace, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Generate and submit required state compliance reports, including submissions through systems such as PowerSchool, CPFA, and EDS. Assist with key human resources functions, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and processes related to employee leave such as FMLA, personal leave, and medical leave. Handle sensitive personnel, legal, and organizational information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with state reporting systems and student information systems such as PowerSchool preferred. High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential information. Compensation and Benefits Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and in accordance with district policies.
