Transportation Manager Location: Orlando, Florida Schedule: Monday-Friday | Approximately 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Occasional weekend or holiday support based on seasonal demand Company Overview Client Company is a leading distributor serving restaurants, hospitality organizations, healthcare facilities, schools, and national chain accounts. Candidates must be local to the Orlando area. Position Summary The Transportation Manager leads daily transportation operations for a high-volume foodservice distribution facility. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient route execution while developing front-line supervisors and driver teams. This position is ideal for a transportation leader who enjoys leading large driver teams, improving route-based delivery operations, and building stability within a growing operation. Scope of Responsibility Lead transportation operations for a high-volume distribution center Direct leadership of 3 Transportation Supervisors Oversight of approximately 55+ drivers (delivery and shuttle) Support team includes 2 dispatchers Execution of roughly 40 delivery routes per day Non-union driver workforce Fleet maintenance supported through third-party provider Key ResponsibilitiesTransportation Operations Ensure deliveries are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule Monitor route performance and identify opportunities for operational improvement Partner closely with warehouse and operations teams to ensure smooth product flow Support consistent service delivery for both national chain accounts and independent customers Team Leadership Lead and develop 3 Transportation Supervisors Manage driver staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and performance management Build a culture focused on safety, accountability, and operational consistency Provide coaching and leadership support to a relatively new supervisory team Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirements Promote strong safety culture across the transportation department Utilize telematics and compliance tools including Samsara and DVIR systems Operational Execution Analyze performance metrics and identify efficiency improvements Utilize tools such as Microsoft Excel to support operational tracking and reporting Collaborate with leadership to implement process improvements and maintain service reliability QualificationsRequired Leadership experience managing large driver teams and front-line supervisors Experience leading transportation operations within distribution environments Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service compliance Strong safety leadership mindset Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Preferred Experience in foodservice, grocery, beverage, or retail distribution Experience managing multi-stop route delivery operations Prior commercial driving experience (helpful but not required) Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field Certifications such as CLTD or CSCP Leadership Structure This role reports to the Director of Operations and works closely with operations leadership and HR to ensure strong transportation performance and team development.
