The Role: Senior Facilities Technician, MEM As a Senior Facilities Technician, you are a senior onsite technical expert responsible for maintaining the reliability, safety, and security of mission-critical data center systems. This role supports both facilities operations and infrastructure support to maintain continuous uptime. You provide hands-on technical work across electrical, mechanical, fire suppression, access control, and monitoring systems. You also mentor technicians and lead technical response within your area of expertise. What You'll Do Maintain operational integrity of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire suppression, and monitoring systems Serve as first responder for qualified and designated incidents Lead root cause analysis within your technical scope and support remediation efforts Monitor system health using EcoStruxure EBO, PME, CMMS, and related platforms Troubleshoot offline devices, communication failures, and system performance issues Perform daily inspections and preventive maintenance checks Install, test, replace, and troubleshoot power and network hardware Provide console access, visual audits, and hands-on support during maintenance windows Support vendor escorts, fire testing, and third-party service activities Maintain access control and surveillance systems, including firmware support and hardware upkeep Document work accurately and support procedure and maintenance plan updates Mentor DCO Technicians and support technical training Follow safety procedures and OSHA regulations at all times Work assigned shifts in a 24x7x365 environment, including weekends and holidays What We're Looking For You operate calmly and effectively in high-pressure environments You follow protocol and plan ahead to reduce risk You communicate clearly and directly with contractors and internal teams You take ownership of system reliability and follow through on issues You support your team and contribute solutions, not just problems You work safely and consistently in mission-critical environments What You'll Bring Required: High school diploma or equivalent 6+ years of experience in facilities, electrical, mechanical, or production maintenance Strong knowledge of HVAC controls and mechanical systems Experience working with electrical systems common in data centers, including UPS, generators, ATS/STS units, switchgear, PDUs, batteries, and related infrastructure Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints Familiarity with OSHA safety standards Experience using ticketing systems and CMMS platforms Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally Ability to work near live electrical and mechanical equipment Preferred: College coursework or degree in a technical field Electrical licensing or documented electrical trade experience Experience working in a mission-critical or data center environment Why Switch?
