Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Night Shift - Saginaw, MI (48602) Overview: Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - 13-week night shift contract in Saginaw, MI (48602) providing acute/critical care and ventilator management. Job Details Position: Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Location: Saginaw, MI 48602 (Saginaw, Michigan / Mid-Michigan / Great Lakes area) Setting: Hospital (acute/critical care) Employment Type: Travel Contract (W2) Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: March 23, 2026 Shift: 12-hour nights (3 x 12-hour shifts per week) - night shift RRT role Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,590-$1,700 Number of Openings: 1 Job Requirements Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required - active credential preferred for travel RRT jobs No minimum experience required; new graduates are encouraged to apply Comfortable working independently and confidently on night shifts (night shift respiratory therapist) Strong clinical documentation, charting, and interdisciplinary communication skills Current BLS and ACLS certifications Responsibilities Provide high-quality intensive respiratory care, including mechanical ventilation and ventilator management for adult and/or pediatric patients as assigned Perform invasive and non-invasive ventilation support, oxygen therapy, ventilator checks, and weaning protocols Evaluate patients, develop and recommend respiratory treatment plans, and document patient responses in the electronic medical record Administer physician-prescribed aerosolized medications, nebulizer treatments, and other respiratory therapies Perform airway management, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal), chest physiotherapy, and tracheostomy care Obtain arterial punctures and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs) to assess ventilation and oxygenation Monitor patients using pulse oximetry and capnography; perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs and basic arrhythmia recognition as needed Conduct pulmonary function studies (NIF, VC) and assist with bronchoscopy and chest tube management Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory equipment, ventilators, and other pulmonary devices; ensure equipment safety and quality control Participate in code response and perform CPR per BLS/ACLS guidelines; collaborate with the interdisciplinary team during emergency situations Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and allied health staff; ensure thorough and accurate shift-to-shift handoffs Maintain accurate respiratory therapy billing/charging and complete other duties as assigned Why join this travel RRT opportunity?
