As a Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Systems, you will be a key technical leader responsible for designing next-generation AC/DC and DC/DC power solutions, elevating performance across product lines, and pushing the boundaries of power-electronics technology. This role is perfect for an engineer who thrives in fast-paced, sophisticated design environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants the opportunity to influence product strategy, mentor teams, and deliver high-reliability solutions that power mission-critical applications. Industry demand for senior electrical engineers continues to grow, with current job descriptions emphasizing leadership in end-to-end design, compliance, testing, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities Design and develop complex electrical and power management systems, including AC/DC and DC/DC switch-mode power supplies (medium and low voltage). Support the Sales Department in reviewing and developing technical proposals for power system and power-electronics projects, even with limited or no reference designs. Identify, specify, and select components based on performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost. Lead standardization, productivity, reliability, maintainability, and cost-reduction initiatives across hardware designs. Review and ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, industry regulations, and certifications, and develop effective compliance strategies. Drive innovation by integrating new technologies into hardware designs and product roadmaps. Modify, evaluate, and advance existing designs, components, and circuitry. Define design approaches and technical parameters for new product development and enhancements. Translate customer and marketing requirements into robust electrical designs. Perform design tasks and coordinate activities across PCB layout, mechanical design, documentation, safety approvals, and manufacturing release. Conduct root-cause analysis for product failures and complex technical issues. Prepare documentation: design descriptions, user support materials, and engineering reports. Lead and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, maintaining strong communication with leadership, peers, and customers. Required Skills & Technical Expertise Strong knowledge of schematic design, PCB design, troubleshooting, specification development, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Hands-on design/troubleshooting of AC/DC & DC power supplies, inverters, UPS systems, and power-distribution systems to component level. Expertise in EMI/RFI attenuation, EMI/EMC compliance, and MIL-standard design. Ability to create, analyze, and test designs and topologies with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) in mind. Experience designing for thermal and environmental conditions-temperature, humidity, shock, vibration. Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, and thermal chambers. Ability to write detailed test procedures and develop test fixtures. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, plus PCAD and Altium. Proven leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to guide engineers. Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or Physical Sciences, with 5+ years relevant industry experience (or equivalent). 3-5+ years' experience using relevant CAD/simulation tools and industry standards. Experience working within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems. Familiarity with MIL-Standards for afloat, ground, and airborne environments. Prior experience with Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) is required. Ideal Candidate Profile A highly analytical, hands-on engineer who excels in challenging design environments, communicates confidently with internal and external stakeholders, and thrives in roles where innovation, problem-solving, and high technical impact are core expectations. This aligns with common industry expectations for senior power-systems engineers, who are typically tasked with leading high-voltage or mission-critical system design and ensuring compliance, reliability, and performance.
