Assistant Buyer

Job Description: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Sourcing / Buyer Assistant to support day-to-day purchasing and operational activities across multiple product categories. This role focuses heavily on transactional and system-based work and will assist senior sourcing team members with data entry, reporting, and coordination efforts. Key Responsibilities: Provide administrative and operational support to sourcing/buying teams Enter and maintain purchasing and item data in internal systems Pull reports to support sourcing initiatives Assist with item creation and updates in coordination with internal data teams Follow up with suppliers on open items and packaging-related projects Help resolve order, scheduling, and promotion-related issues Support dairy and frozen product categories Take ownership of transactional tasks so senior team members can focus on analysis Qualifications: 12 years of corporate office experience (supply chain, purchasing, operations, or analytical support preferred) Bachelors degree strongly preferred Intermediate Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs) Experience with ERP/CRM systems such as SAP or Salesforce is a plus Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Confident communicator who can work independently and take direction Perks: Hybrid work schedule Foot-in-the-door opportunity with a respected organization Learn from a highly tenured and knowledgeable team Strong growth potential within sourcing and buying
