Bookkeeper Position We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced bookkeeper to join our team in Santa Ana, California. This part-time role offers an opportunity to work closely with executive leadership in a dynamic non-profit environment, ensuring efficient financial operations and compliance with payroll and tax requirements. If you excel in managing financial processes, improving systems, and collaborating with key organizational leaders, we invite you to apply. Responsibilities: Maintain accurate financial records and oversee accounts payable and receivable processes. Prepare and process payroll using platforms such as Paychex, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations. Collaborate with executive leadership to align financial operations with organizational goals. Manage vendor relationships and oversee 1099 processing and contractor-to-employee transitions. Handle payroll tax notices and correspondence from regulatory agencies, ensuring timely resolution. Review and verify time sheets for accuracy prior to payroll processing. Leverage automation tools to streamline workflows and enhance reporting accuracy. Monitor grant funding and ensure compliance with reporting requirements for non-profit programs. Utilize donation and payment management systems like Vanco to manage contributions across multiple regions. Identify and implement system improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy. Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a non-profit setting. Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software. Strong knowledge of payroll processes, including taxable and non-taxable compensation. Familiarity with non-profit tax requirements, unemployment exemptions, and grant reporting. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with executive-level leadership. Experience managing accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations. Skilled in using donation and payment systems for tracking contributions. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance in financial operations.
