The unit comprises 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds and a dedicated staff team. The patient ratio is typically 1:5 for RNs and 1:13 for patient care technicians. Key equipment used includes IV pumps, epidural pumps, and lifts. The electronic medical record system in use is Cerner. Candidates should ideally have experience with cardiovascular and vascular surgery populations. Priority will be given to candidates with recent CVICU experience. The ideal candidate is a team player and enjoys a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is essential for this role. There are no on-call requirements for this position. Weekend commitments require a minimum of six shifts every six weeks. Dress code requires navy and white scrubs.
