We are seeking a senior-level Director of College Admissions Strategy to lead high-level consultations with prospective families and drive enrollment into our programs. Reporting directly to the Founder, this role is responsible for converting qualified families into long-term clients through strategic assessment, expert positioning, and executive-level advising. The Director of College Admissions Strategy serves as the first senior authority families encounter setting expectations, building trust, and guiding them toward the appropriate program and counselor.This is not a traditional sales role. It is a consultative, strategy-driven leadership position with direct impact on company growth.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESI. Business Development & Thought LeadershipBrand Ambassadorship: Act as the premier face of GE College Prep, hosting high-impact webinars that distill our methodology into a compelling case for our companys authority.Market Positioning: Partner with leadership to refine brand messaging and marketing collateral, ensuring our "voice" resonates with the specific ambitions of high-achieving families.Revenue Strategy: Serve as a key advisor to leadership on the evolution of positioning and pricing strategy.Strategic Consultations: Lead one-on-one discovery sessions with prospective families, architecting bespoke roadmaps that bridge student needs with our elite service tiers to drive high-value enrollment.Conversion Mastery: Own the consultation-to-enrollment pipeline; audit and evolve the consultation framework to maximize close rates and accelerate company growth, serving as a key advisor to leadership on the evolution of positioning and pricing strategy.II. Client ManagementElite Portfolio Management: Manage a personal portfolio of ambitious students, making multi-year commitments to guide them through the entire admissions cycle with a focus on high-impact extracurricular recommendations, narrative building, and essay writing.Executive Flexibility: Maintain a professional schedule strategically aligned with student availability. This role requires regular evening and occasional weekend sessions to accommodate US time zones for our national team and client base. To balance evening student-facing hours, enjoy significant autonomy and flexibility during standard business hours for administrative tasks, research, and strategy development.Program Evolution: Direct yearly end-of-program reviews to evaluate all GE College Prep student trajectories, ensuring seamless transitions between programs to maximize long-term strategies and outcomes.Executive Oversight: Serve as an escalation point for families and staff, proactively resolving complex issues and assisting with case reassignment when necessary.QUALIFICATIONSEducation & ExperienceBachelors degree from a Top-50 institution required, advanced degree preferredExperience serving in a decision-making capacity on the admissions committee at a highly selective institution (Ivy Plus/Top 20 preferred), with a deep understanding of holistic review and selective institutional prioritiesExperience managing teams and navigating high-pressure, high-expectation client environmentsProven success working with a range of student engagement levels, from self-driven over-achievers to those requiring strategic re-engagement and motivational scaffoldingFamiliarity with direct-admit and/or specialized programs at a wide variety of institutionsSkills/QualitiesNatural ability to connect with others and build trust and rapport quickly with both families and internal staff Able to synthesize nuanced information and deliver decisive, confident recommendationsGenuine passion for helping students achieve their academic and personal potentialExceptional organizational mastery and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex student lifecycles with precision, particularly in fast-paced environments that require significant emotional intelligence and poiseAbility to translate complex admissions data and trends into actionable counseling strategiesProficiency in using college counseling software, spreadsheets, and data management toolsDedicated, quiet workspace with reliable internet access for virtual sessionsCOMPENSATION & ADDITIONAL DETAILSSalary: This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position with a base of $140,000-150,000 DOE.Bonuses: Eligible for incentive and retention bonus plans, as well as a profit-sharing plan.Benefits: 401(k) with company match, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, and LTD coverage, technology stipend, paid time off, and more.We are looking for people who would like to call Great Expectations home for years to come, so if this position piques your interest, please send us a cover letter that demonstrates your creativity, personality, and general writing skills please be yourself and use this opportunity to show us the real you!NOTE: We are extremely dedicated to employee engagement and hiring for the long term.
