Plant Manager Location: Folcroft, PA Company: American Wire Works & Ace Metal Works Job Type: Full-Time About the Opportunity American Wire Works and Ace Metal Works are long-standing industrial manufacturing businesses with decades of history supporting aerospace, defense, automotive, and general industrial markets. As both companies continue to grow, we are now operating from a combined facility in Folcroft, PA and expanding our production capabilities. We are seeking a hands-on Plant Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations and help drive the next phase of growth. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a busy, multi-process facility and work with a committed team in a stable, established business environment. We are seeking a hands-on Plant Manager who is comfortable being on the shop floor daily, working alongside supervisors and operators, and solving real-time production challenges. This is not a desk-only role — the right candidate enjoys rolling up their sleeves, identifying root causes, and keeping operations moving. What You’ll Do Lead Production Throughput Oversee daily and weekly production across wire processing and fabrication operations Ensure customer commitments and production schedules are met Balance labor, equipment, and material flow to maximize efficiency Identify and address capacity or workflow constraints Lead From the Floor Maintain a visible daily presence on the shop floor Actively troubleshoot production bottlenecks and workflow issues Step in to resolve equipment, labor, or process challenges in real time Support supervisors during high-pressure production periods Lead & Develop the Team Supervise and coach production supervisors and shop personnel Support hiring, training, and performance development Maintain clear expectations around safety, quality, and productivity Foster a positive, accountable shop culture Safety & Compliance Maintain and enforce plant safety standards and OSHA compliance Conduct safety training and incident follow-up Ensure a clean, organized, and professional work environment Quality & Process Improvement Ensure production meets drawings, specifications, and customer requirements Address quality issues originating on the shop floor Drive improvements in consistency, efficiency, and workflow Equipment & Facility Coordination Work closely with the facilities and tooling function to ensure equipment uptime Support preventive maintenance planning Identify opportunities for layout, tooling, or equipment improvements Cross Functional Coordination Coordinate production priorities with operations and logistics Provide input on manufacturability and scheduling Escalate risks that may impact delivery or quality What We're Looking For Required 5–10+ years experience in manufacturing or industrial operations Prior leadership experience as a Production Manager, Plant Manager, or senior Supervisor Strong people leadership and communication skills Ability to manage multiple production processes simultaneously Working knowledge of shop safety standards Preferred Experience in metal fabrication, wire processing, or similar industrial environments Experience running or supporting multi-shift operations Exposure to lean or continuous improvement initiatives Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Performance-based bonus opportunity Health benefits (if applicable) Retirement plan with company match (if applicable) Paid time off and holidays Why Join Us This role offers the chance to lead operations within stable, established companies that are actively growing and investing in their future.
