This role is focused on providing high-quality care in an ER holding environment, where you will work with a diverse patient demographic that includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Shift Details Type: Night Shift Schedule: 3x12 Hours (19:00 - 07:30) Patient Ratios: 1:4 Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including ER observation/holding or medical-surgical telemetry experience. Preferred certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS. Experience with the following is preferred: Telemetry and dysrhythmia management PCU/Stepdown care IV insulin and heparin protocols Management of renal failure Cardiac and vasoactive drips including titration Blood product administration Tracheostomy management Rapid response team utilization Wound care and wound vac management Non-invasive airway management (including CPAP/BIPAP and oxygen therapy) Work Environment The Emergency Department Observation Unit consists of 32 rooms and beds, accommodating an average daily census of 32 patients. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes: Physical Therapy Respiratory Services Interpretation Services Radiology Social Services Rapid Response Teams Pharmacy Transportation Unit Secretary Charting System Familiarity with Epic is preferred for documentation and patient management tasks.
